Short Bio
Junseok Hwang (황준석) is a professor of Information Science and Technology at the Technology Management, Economics, and Policy Program (TEMEP), and Director of the Global R&DB Center, International Technology Professional Program (ITPP), and Transdisciplinary Graduate Program in Smart City Global Convergence (SCGC) in Seoul National University. Prior to this, he was an Assistant Professor in the School of Information Studies at Syracuse University. Prof. Hwang has educated and advised more than 200 postgraduate government officials, public researchers, and academic and industry leaders from about 50 countries as global leaders of ICT innovation and smart city development. Along with the worldwide network of Technology Management, Economics and Policy Program (TEMEP), International Technology Professional Program (ITPP), and Smart City Global Convergence Program (SCGC), he hosts annual International Symposia on Green, Smart, Development, and Vision (GSDV) to exhibit transdisciplinary ICT innovation research and practices as a part of global knowledge sharing and collaboration. Currently, he is leading the nationally funded BK21 program, Smart City Global Convergence (SCGC) Program in SNU as a program director with the dedicated mission of educating international technology specialists and smart city experts from around the globe.

Jisoo Hur is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Seoul National University. Prior to her Ph.D. program, she gained experience in policy development by working as a researcher for Science and Technology Policy Institute and Korea Research Institute of Vocational Education and Training for a year and a half. Her main research areas include design innovation, firm innovation, network analysis, intra-firm knowledge and collaboration networks.

Ruqaya AlNoamani is a Ph.D. Candidate at Seoul National University in the Technology Management, Economics, and Policy program. She worked in Energy Sector from 2015-2020 in various roles, including Asset Life Extension Management and Enterprise Risk Management. Ruqaya has been a UAE Youth Ambassador to South Korea since 2014, and she represented the UAE on numerous occasions, including UN Youth Summit 2018. Her research interests are Energy Sector, Patent, Environmental Policy, Innovation Policy, Industrial Policy, Econometric Analysis, R&D Budget, and Geopolitical Analysis. Her research interests focus especially implications of each factor on different economic environments, including Oil Exporters, Oil Importers, Diversified Economies, and Developing Economies.

Priscilla Ruiz is a PhD candidate in Environmental Economics at the Seoul National University’s Graduate School of Environmental Studies. She has joined I-STICK with the desire to deepen her knowledge of sustainable urban development and energy economics in the context of smart city growth. Her research expertise lies at the heart of green growth of developing countries, green energy-technological development, welfare and environmental economics. She has worked in the industry for over 3 years and is now a senior research at the GRC awaiting to complete her PhD thesis.

Kassahun Gelana is a Ph.D candidate in TEMEP at Seoul National University, South Korea. Prior to joining SNU, he served as a Lecturer and academic leader at two Ethiopian Universities. Since 2010 he served as College Dean, ICT Director and V/President for Institutional Development and Business of ASTU. His research includes strategic management, Regional Innovation systems and Digital Leadership for Digital Transformations.

Hayul Kim is pursuing a Ph.D. degree in the TEMEP program at Seoul National University. Since 2016, she has patented smart healthcare appliance and smart inventory management shelf. Currently, she is working on developing knowledge sharing programs using digital twin and extended reality to improve the manufacturing industry. Her research interests include TAM, firm innovation, technological entrepreneurship, and business model innovation.
